This is a great photo-manipulation, you were right about the details getting missed in smaller views, and they are definitely worth seeing. The photograph itself has more contrast then the manipulation, if you were able to emphasize the contrast on the manipulated portions of this and add an overlay adjustment layer of a single color to give it more unity (or a photo-filter adjustment layer) that would help make the manipulated parts seem less toyed with as well. The headband is great, I'm honestly uncertain if he's actually wearing it or if it was added with software. Overall the thing that would help the most is sharpening the spikes where they jet out into the photo, they're blurry and that's what's killing most of the realism. The horns are a little blurry in their details in comparison to the photo as well. In the end too, what also helps unite manipulated parts is adding a little bit of noise to the entire image (you really don't want to do that until the very last step though)

This is great work!:headbang:
