The more I looked at the previous version of this the more I disliked it. I've deleted it in disgust, and uploaded this new, version with multiple fixes and changes.

This is the second image I’ve made in what will be a series based on the Elderling’s Realm books by Robin Hobb, sometimes called the Farseer books. The Fool is a central character in these books, and he goes through many changes both in his body and in his persona. He has human parents but somewhere in his ancestry there is non-human blood – a White.

This image is of the Fool as King Shrewd’s Jester – as he appears in the first book. His appearance is bizarre to the point of being so shocking people will avoid meeting his eyes. He seems to be a somewhat androgynous adolescent boy. His colouring is almost that of an albino, except his eyes have the faintest hint of blue. He has very fine, flyaway white hair. I have set him in his winter motley of black and white, against the smoky, somewhat dirty medieval paneling in Buck Keep castle.

I had originally planned to do a triptych of fool, Fitz and Nighteyes but I will be doing four different images of the fool instead. Eventually I will combine them in one large image.
